Deze rijk geschakeerde Gavi is afkomstig van de typerende ijzerrijke kleigrond in het noorden van de appellatie. De wijngaarden hebben een zuid, zuid-west oriëntatie en de gemiddelde leeftijd van de wijnstokken is 30 jaar oud. Eerste produktiejaar was 1990. Een deel van de most en een deel van de ontsteelde druiven worden gedurende een week in een tank op 3°C gehouden vóór de alcoholische fermentatie. Hierna worden de schillen geperst en het free-run sap wordt gebruikt. De wijn rijpt 5 maanden op RVS en aansluitend nog 3 maanden op fles. Dit is een prachtig voorbeeld van een noordelijke Gavi: Het fruit is gelaagd, de structuur is solide en met focus en een fijne mineraliteit komt naar boven in de afdronk.
This richly varied Gavi comes from the characteristic iron-rich clay soil in the north of the appellation. The vineyard have a south, south-west exposition and the average age of the vines is 30 years old. First year of production was 1990. A part of the must and a part of the destemmed grapes are kept in a tank at 3°C before the alcoholic fermentation. Afterwards the skins are pressed and only the free-run juice is used. The wine ripens 5 months on stainless steel and afterwards 3 months on bottle. This is a splendid example of a northern Gavi: The fruit is layered, the structure is solid and with focus and a fine minerality surfaces in the aftertaste.
